Band of the day
I discovered 65daysofstatic few months ago, in a youtube video about global warming. After some time I’ve decided to give them a try, and they’ve been in my playlist for few days now. I would describe their music as a mix between rock and trip hop, great companion for working afternoons.

Gonna make you sweat
Today I was presented to the newest and coolest agile practice I have ever seen: the sauna meeting. Instead of using the lack of chairs to limit the length of an agile meeting, we use the ambient temperature. The idea is pretty simple: all meetings are done in a small room without any window, air conditioning or ventilation. Cheap, green and trendy! Sauna meeting is a breath of fresh air for...

Zero tolerance
I can’t stand sugar in my beverages anymore. I don’t know exactly why it happened, but they are all too sweet to me: juices, yoghurts, sodas. Even my usual decaf coffee is now sugarless. Weird.

Refracturing
Refracturing is the process of changing a piece of code, leaving it much messier than before. Usually involves brute force technics such as conditionals, inheritance, copy & paste and huge blocks of comments.

They tried to make me go to rehab
Refactoring is dangerous. You can easily spend a whole day cleaning messy code. And at 6PM you realize that you haven’t accomplished anything but personal satisfaction.

The code must go on
The scariest code is the one where things go wrong and the application just goes on.

So far, so good
So far the unibody macbook pro is the perfect laptop. Well built and slim, is the most powerful computer I’ve ever used. The battery lasts much longer than other laptops and heating is not a problem: even after hours of usage and battery recharge the body feels cool and the fan is not racing. The only pain (physical pain, in this case) is the sharp edges of the body, it can hurt your arm....
